Process and Product Development Centre for
technological up-gradation of small scale castings &
forging industries was set up at Agra in the later
half of 1985 with the assistance of Govt. of India,
Govt. Of U.P. & UNDP/UNIDO. Initially, it was a
Government setup under SIDO and later converted into
an autonomous body w.e.f. 21st July, 1986. The
affairs of the centre are managed by a Governing
Council under the chairmanship of AS & DC (SSI). The
Principal Director is the chief executive of the
centre. The centre has four major divisions, viz.,
